#MondayMotivation: 7 Things You Shouldn’t Let People Do To You

So, I’ve seen people being dragged down and about through the words and actions of others. They begin to react to the things people do to them but they don’t “act”. I used to be that way until I realized that it was time to stand up and take a stand for myself. This lack of acting when these things happen is part of the reason why many of us lack motivation to be who we truly are or do those things we are actually passionate about. There are 7 distinct things that people actually say or do that affect us negatively. It’s time for you to stop people doing these things to you.

  1. Stop letting people get you down with their negativity.

It’s normal to feel down when other people feel down, but you can’t allow their constant negativity and aura to keep you feeling down. Don’t let anyone drag you down.

  1. Stop letting people tell you not to follow your dreams.

They’re YOUR dreams, after all. They don’t belong to anyone else. Pursue your dreams if you want to. Approach them however you like. If they don’t work out, that’s on you and no one else.

  1. Stop letting your friends talk crap about you.

If your friends are talking bad about you behind your back, it’s time to get some new friends. You shouldn’t let anyone close to you say bad things about you when you’re not there.

  1. Stop letting people fib to you.

If your friends aren’t being straight with you or are withholding important information from you, it’s time for you to let them go. Find people who are not afraid to tell you the truth when you’re wrong!

  1. Stop letting people take advantage of you.

You should always be there to help the people around you if they need it, but don’t let them walk all over you. Don’t let them take advantage of your kindness.

  1. Stop letting people misunderstand you.

If you’ve explained yourself clearly and people still don’t get you, they probably don’t want to get you. Time to move on in that case.

  1. Stop letting people drag you into fights.

If two people you know are at it, stay out of it. If they try to drag you into it, stay out of it. Make a conscious effort to stay out of it.

At times, it’s not OK to back down and be quiet. There are times you need to act and if you notice people doing these 7 things to you, then you need to act!
